Basic Benchmark Service

iStock_000003073326SmallUsing your data and the industry-leading benchmarking tool, we provide you with an ENERGY STAR benchmark ranking for your building.

ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager is the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) interactive energy management tool used for measuring and tracking energy consumption. An estimated 40 percent of U.S. commercial building space has been benchmarked using this software.

Energy Benchmark Services saves you the time and training it takes to navigate Portfolio Manager to benchmark the performance of one building or an entire portfolio.

You’ll receive a percentile energy performance score, on a 1 to 100 scale, which allows you to see how your building compares to office buildings nationwide. For example, an office building with a score of 65 is more efficient (energy/square foot) than 64 percent of the office buildings in the U.S.

Once you know how your building ranks, Energy Benchmark Services can help you take the next step by discussing ways to improve your building’s energy performance.

Cost for Benchmarking Services

Our benchmarking fee starts at $425 for a mid-size office building up to 20,000 square feet, with one electric and one gas meter.

Costs vary according to number of meters, variations in occupancy and other factors. We will be happy to discuss and evaluate your situation to determine an appropriate fee.

A deposit of 50% is requested along with all required building data to begin the benchmark process. Credit cards and checks are accepted.

  • Business name
  • Building address
  • Total square footage
  • Operating hours per week
  • Electric and gas account numbers along with a one to two year utility billing history
  • Number of occupants and number of personal computers
